YOUthCAN was a great success! On Thursday March 25th, CWDHS student leaders arrived bright and early anticipating the arrival of Michel Chickawanine and 1500 high school students and 200 elementary students. The building was filled with positivity and eagerness for change.

All were inspired by Michel Chikwanine’s powerful message of his own personal tragedy and his to efforts to change the world. Students were encouraged by Michel’s challenge to “Be The Change”. He made a powerful impact upon all students and staff when he quoted his  father when he stated, “Great men and women are not remembered for their money or possessions but for their heart.”

Following Michel’s presentation all of the students attended two workshops that were conducted by one of the 32 organizations that were in attendance and learned about the work the organizations are doing and how students, are able to help to make the world a better place.

YOUthCAN was nothing short of exciting and inspiring for the students that attended. Already we are beginning to see the ripples caused by the splash of YOUthCAN. We look forward to seeing more students being the change that Michel spoke of, as we all know YOUthCAN be the change you wish to see in the world.
